It looks like some congratulations are due to our osprey pair. Yesterday evening (04/27) we noticed there is an EGG in the nest. We cautiously hope for one more. (2 is the average)

Thank you a hundred times over for this website. This elderly lady is thoroughly enjoying it. Glad you confirmed the egg as I thought I saw one. Keep up the good work, this is such a wonderful thing for you to do. I hope lots of folks, especially children, take advantage of watching! 4/28/2016 04:05:16 pm

Yahooo...I thought I saw 1 egg yesterday....mom being very attentive while dad (of course) sits and preens...typical male...just kidding! he nestled along side her today..looked like he was trying to keep her warm. Thank you, Snappy's, so much for this 'adventure' to Osprey-land!!

We have watched the Osprey from the ground for years and have been enthralled with THAT view. Now your webcam has given us the pleasure to observe all we have wondered about for years. Thank you so much for giving this to our Valley. Only problem, I get so distracted and neglect priorities!!! lol

How exciting!!! I just saw both eggs. Here's hoping they both survive!!! What a gift Snappy's has given to the Valley, and not just video, but sound. They start chirping & I stop my work, switch screens & watch them, lol! So distracting, but I love it!

I was worried about the "Mrs" not eating since she has to stay on her eggs, then Jon informed that the "Mr" is the bread winner and brings food to her and the chicks when they hatch. Love this live feed......thank you again Snappy's for this wonderful insight on these raptors. 5/4/2016 04:06:10 pm
We have also witnessed the male and female trading places. Let's the lady out for a bit to stretch her wings. Dad is making a great baby sitter for the THREE eggs we have now.

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw a third egg. Is that possible? 5/5/2016 05:00:10 pm
Pat, your eyes have NOT deceived you. We do indeed have THREE eggs in our nest. We have also been told that because the food supply is so great (our pond is so close) there is a chance we might even end up with four. Keep checking and you may see 4 in the next day or so.

Wow, 3 eggs & maybe a 4th possible!!! Not only have you given us this gift, but a huge gift to the Osptey! I have yet to find an answer to the following curiosity & perhaps someone reading can help. My understanding is that Osprey are monogamous & come back to their same nest each year. If so, what do the babies do when they fledge? No new nest are put up around the valley to accommodate all the babies every year, so what happens to them? And can the nest accommodate 4 babies if they have 4 eggs & all hatch? Comments are closed.
