WE HAVE A CHICK!Duke and Duchess successfully hatched the first egg in the nest yesterday (06/07/2016). We have two more eggs to go. However this is a milestone. The chick emerged at 8AM (or more precisely 7:58.50 MDT). We had noticed Duchess being a bit fidgety the last couple days. This was right on schedule at 41 days since we saw the first egg. The other two eggs followed 2 days apart each. So we anticipate some more hatching action in the next 36-48 hours. Interesting Facts:

Congrats Duke & Duchess!! And to Snappy's for giving them a home and a camera for all of us to enjoy. BUT, I can't believe I missed the hatching! I keep hoping your records don't show how much time I spend on this site, lol!! I have many hours logged just watching them & then waiting for the hatching. I checked at 6 & 7 am, then had to run errands and missed the big event! Two to go, so I hope I see it live, if not, you are providing us with so much footage, I am very grateful. We also stopped in the other day & watched fish and the D & D from below. We are waiting & hoping all 3 hatch to submit our name suggestion!! Thanks again!

Tell me it ain't so, I missed the second hatch?? With all the time I have spent enjoying these great birds instead of taking care of my priorities, how could I miss #2. Well, one to go & one more chance. Either way, I am still enjoying this unique opportunity to observe this "family". Now back to my chores for at least 36 hrs!!! 6/9/2016 02:22:23 pm

Names...I like: Squirmy, Snappy and Spunky. The littlest one has to have spunk to survive, and they are bobble headed squirmers. Snappy, because you deserve it🐥🐥🐣

Good suggestions, Deanna. I will submit mine as soon as the 3rd arrives & all prove to be healthy.

Thought I saw 3 this morning...only seeing 2 now🙄 6/10/2016 10:38:29 am
I haven't not been able to confirm three yet. I am checking the camera history to see if I can get positive confirmation. Stay Tuned!

Thrilled to see many others are as interested in Snappy's web cam and watching the chicks hatch and grow. Thank you for a wonderful insight on these birds lives. Patiently waiting for number 3 to arrive.

I have read that Osprey have sat as long as 70 days total waiting for an egg to hatch, so I remain optimistic since "our" osprey are only about 5 days overdue. As soon as confirmation of all hatched eggs, I plan to send a letter to Inter Lake editor about Snappy's giving us this huge gift. My delay is that the website might get inundated with new watchers & interfere with my observations!! Maybe a little selfish on my part, but I'm not ready to share my exclusive watching, yet!! 6/15/2016 09:44:00 am

Ok, I won't be selfish, everyone should have equal opportunity to observe these special birds in their habitat. Afterall, Snappy's gave the Osprey the opportunity to build their nest & for anyone to observe & learn. Thank you again. I really must get my own work done & let these birds have some privacy!!
