Any word on Dickey Lake ice and Murphy Lake?

Jon - Snappy’s
12/28/2017 12:29:24 pm

We have heard Dickey is frozen and fishing well. Haven’t heard anything on Murphy. However should be frozen as well. Just be sure to test your ice.

any ice on echo yet?

Jon - Snappy's
12/29/2017 04:52:12 pm

Hey Jorn,
Griffin checked it couple of days ago. Said that it was frozen. About 4" in the bays, but a bit sketchy out toward the middle. Although the cold weather should have helped. Just check your ice and be careful.

Skylar,
We are hearing reports of 5"+ ice out there. Perch are biting and even some salmon. Hope this helps.

Holland lake?

Kevon,
We have not gotten any reports from Holland Lake. Although we are hearing that most all of the lakes down in the Swan are frozen over. So chances are it is as well. Sorry I don't have more to report.

Any news on Bitteroot?

Jon - Snappy's link
1/5/2018 02:48:34 pm

Hello Heidi,
Bitterroot Lake has been a bit iffy on ice. It did not get a good cap and the warmer weather has been melting it off especially in the deeper water areas. BE VERY CAREFUL. Some of the bays and around the shore still have some decent ice, but again that is changing rapidly. Those that have been out have had some luck with Perch and Rainbows.

Any news if the ice is safe, for walking, on Lake Blaine?

Jon - Snappy's link
1/7/2018 11:52:51 am

Sven,
We haven't heard anything specific about Blaine. However Echo is very sketchy. The bays were OK before the warm days that we have had, but the middle was not good. I suspect Blaine is much the same. After the last couple warm days, I would be VERY CAREFUL and be sure to check your ice often.

How is the ice on Foy's Lake? Thanks

Jon - Snappy’s
1/8/2018 03:46:10 pm

Just heard that Foy’s has good safe ice. About 8” and very little snow on top. Fishing has been good too. Rainbows especially hitting well.

Is there any safe ice left in the valley after this rain and warm weather?

Jon - Snappy's link
1/9/2018 05:08:33 pm

Hey Mike,
From what our guys have experienced and what our customers have shared, the ice has held pretty steady despite the warm weather. It is getting a but slushy and wet, but still safe. Always CHECK YOUR ICE and be safe. Things can change quickly, but we are still seeing solid ice around on the lakes. Hope this helps.

I was on Echo on Saturday. 2-3” cap covered by 1” of slush and another 1” cap. Definitely sketchy.
When’s the next report coming out? Great job reporting the conditions out there. Really helps!
