Picture
Smith Lake
6-8” of solid ice with lots of Pike being caught on just about anything. Decent Perch being caught using smaller jigs like Pete’s Slab Slayers.

Blanchard Lake

4-6” of ice in spots, so BE CAREFUL. Some Crappie, Perch and Pike being landed. Early AM & PM using glow hooks like Demon Jigs for the Crappie.
Lower & Upper Stillwater
8” of ice and snow. Perch fishing is great in 12-20ft of water. Forage Minnows work great tipped with maggots. Small Pike have been reported on tip ups with smelt or other frozen bait.

Echo Lake

Ice is sketchy at this time. Some bays are frozen, but the main body is still open. USE EXTREME CAUTION!

Rodgers Lake

4-6” of solid ice. A few decent Cuts using Clam Leech Spoons.

Thompson Chain

Upper has good ice. Middle just capped over. Lower has decent ice near the access. Perch being caught in 30ft of water using Pete’s Jaw Breaker and Sassy Swimmers. Decent size Pike using tip ups and frozen fish bait.

Lake Mary Ronan

Ice has finally arrived! (Use CAUTION!) State Park 2-3” of ice. Mountain Meadow Resort has 3-4” and good numbers of Perch being caught in 14-19ft of water. Try Hali Jigs with wax worms.

Island Lake

4-6” of ice and slush. Lots of small Perch and Pike. Anything will work but use a size larger jig to ice a few bigger Perch.

Church Slough

Capped over BUT USE CAUTION! Lots of small Perch and a few Pike. Tip ups with pea mouth for Pike and Pete’s Jaw Breakers with Mighty Mites.

Flathead River

A few resident Whitefish being caught using green jigs and Pete’s Dominator Craw. Fly fishing – use Olive Wooly Bugger. A few Cuts and Lakers being report as well.

It has safe ice. Just watch your shorelines.

Foys Lake is 3 1/2 inches of very solid ice. Center is still a Goose pond, getting smaller. Fished in 15 feet of water and hit some 15 inch rainbows on small twisters and maggots. Early morning, go home at 10am and make breakfast. Care is the word for all lakes. Test the ice often as you journey on.

Hearing that ice is still iffy. Pretty soft around the shore. Abbot has been good if you can get back there.
