Excellent Lake Trout action casting along any points, islands or shelfs. Best bet is North or South of West Shore State Park. Also give Rocky Point, Bird Island and Finely Point a shot. For your spoons try Kamloopers , Little Cleos, or Pot-O-Golds. Seeing the fish at 15’-30’ depths.
Hearing good numbers of Whitefish showing up now with the cooler weather settling in. Try your luck in any of the holes between Columbia Falls and Old Steel Bridge area. Pete’s Craw & Tubes with 1/8 -1/4oz jig heads working well from shore. If you want to fish off the bridge, get out your Rattle Snakies or Pete’s Whitefish Slayers. Also, some decent Trout fishing for your Cutts and Rainbows in the river now.
Rainbow fishing is picking up. Try trolling flies behind planer boards or long line and large plugs. Hearing between Rexford and the bridge is the best bet.
Still a little bit of Bass action going. Look in Abbot & Peterson for Smallmouth and some good Perch.
The Rainbows are starting to hit when trolling large flies on planner boards or you could also try Rapalas. Also hearing reports of a few Salmon trolling on the South End down about 30’-40’.
Lake Mary Ronan
Good Perch fishing. Try Camp Tuffit area in 25’-30’ water range or far South West Bay in 20’-25’ of water. Hali, Northland Forage Minnow tipped with perch meat or worms. Watch your water levels. They are low and that makes launching larger boats difficult.
Lake Trout action is getting good along shelfs and points. Try casting large spoons and spinners in 15’-30’ of water. Look for your Pike in the deep weed edges with your dead bait.
More good news on Lake Trout action along the North end on the highway side. Also, good Rainbow fishing along shore lines, trilling small Rapala in trout patterns. Pike action is slowing down, but you can still find a bit on the South end in the deep weed edges.
