Cold weather is expected by Thanksgiving and beyond. This will really decrease the water temps. Ice will start to form on some lakes, but ALWAYS check conditions before you go out!

Ashley Lake
A few people have ventured out to catch some salmon. They were in 55’ of water jigging Swedish Pimps with pink maggots anywhere from 15-30ft below water surface.

Blanchard
Some ice has formed, then melted. It shouldn’t take much to cap over later this week.

Church Slough
This past week has been great for anglers catching pike. Use on pole rigged with a pea mouth on a hanger rug under a bobber. Take a second pole and cast a fire tiger Rapala.
Echo Lake
No recent reports of whitefish, but this a great time to catch them during their spawn. Bass have moved to warmer water and deeper.

Fennon Slough
One report of good crappie fishing. Use cation navigating your boat getting in as the sand bar is exposed. Look for brush piles or other structure where crappie school up.

Flathead Lake
Quite a few boats are still venturing out to catch lake trout. Some are jigging deeper water, while others are vesting spoons in shallower water.

Flathead River
Whitefish are still going strong. Anglers have noted it was slow as the recent rain made water murky. It is slowly clearing up and the fish are back biting. Lures vary daily, plastic craws one day and tubes the next.

Koocanusa
Anglers are once again having a good week with the rainbows. They are still trolling Capt Andy’s flies behind planer boards. A few anglers targeting salmon near Rexford launch.

Lake Mary Ronan
No recent reports of any activity.

Little Bitterroot
Some anglers are having great luck catching double digit rainbows. Planer boards are a must to avoid spooking the fish with prop wash. Capt Andy’s flies are the go-to lure.

Lower Stillwater
Some ice and still unsafe as of now. With temps dropping this should change.

Rodgers Lake
Ice is very sketchy with some open water so use EXTREME CAUTION!

Smith Lake
The shoreline has open water or real thin ice. North East end has some open water so wait till after Thanksgiving to have safe ice.

Swan Lake
A few reports of lake trout action in 30ft of water on hard, rocky bottom. Jig Zimmer’s Doodlebug with frozen cut bait in these areas for best action.

Thompson Lake
Hunters in the area are reporting back with zero ice and no boat activity.
Have a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving from the Fishing Guys down here at Snappy’s!
