Ice fishing is just around the corner, Special 3-day Ice fishing event planned for the 10,11,12th of December.
Stay Tuned and Tight Lines
Foys Lake – Water temps are right for Rainbow trout! Silver and gold spoons being trolled or casting into the shallower depths (5-15 foot of water). Usually floating a worm with a marshmallow while casting an attractant will increase your odds of catching fish.
Little Bitterroot – Rainbows are being caught. Trolling with planer boards can be very effective this time of year. Bigger fish have been pushing into the shallower water looking for an easy meal!! Rajala’s remain to be king.
Flathead Lake – Dead baits off the bottom on the delta have been starting to produce some nicer lake trout. Try peamouth or sucker meat. Water temps are dropping fast!!
Flathead River – Rain has the water up fairly high and very murky. Whitefish bite should pick up towards the weekend as the water clears up and slows down.
Murray Lake – Try using chartreuse PowerBait off the launch or alternatively a floating night crawler.
Whitefish Lake – Lake trout are very active! Jigging has been very productive with a small tube tipped with cut bait. Look for rocky points that have access to deeper drop offs.
Rogers Lake – Bite has been very strong on mature cutthroat trout. Small Panther Martins and Little Cleo’s have been working well.
