Flathead Lake
Lake Whitefish are still hitting strong. North End is still fishing very well. Try your luck on the Delta, Woods Bay Point, Caroline Point and Conrad Point. Also, the fishing should be pretty decent elsewhere as long as you are fishing in 40’-60’ of water.

Lake Trout are starting to pick up out there. Trolling Flatfish around 60’-100’ around the Delta and Mid Lake Bar. Lake Trout are also mixed in with the Whitefish. Jigging larger jigs from Zimmer or Kit’s Tackle. Seeing 1 or 1-1/2 oz. as the most popular. Early mornings are still your best bet! Don’t forget to bring your cooler packed with ice to get those fish cooled down quickly.

South End still has some great Perch action in Big Arm, Elmo, Dayton Bay or around Cromwell Island. Look for them to be at 15’-25’ deep.

Lake Mary Ronan
Excellent Perch starting to hit. Fall is a great time from September to October. Try Pete’s Tackle Crappie Candy or Hali Jigs with maggots or worms on the end.

Island Lake
We are still seeing excellent 7”-11” Perch. Great eaters and all you want! Also, lots of small Pike and a few Bass.

Flathead River Sloughs
Church / Fennon – Starting to pick up for Bass and Crappie. Look in the deeper weed edges in the evening for the Crappie.
Rose Creek / Half Moon – Starting to pick up on Pike. Try your Husky Jerks or a large swim bait.

Middle Thompson
Kokanee action is slowing down. Perch are now starting to hit. Look in the deep weed edges or suspended in the open water. Pike are also hitting near those weeds.

Bitterroot Lake
The Salmon action is still strong in the Mornings. Ashely Lake is seeing the same as well.

Echo
Bass are still strong and will only get better during the fall. Look for Smallmouth to move up around the Points and the Humps in the lake.

Snagging Season
September 15th is the opening day for Snagging. Graves Creek, Tobacco River and sections of the Kootenai will all be running well. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR REGS!

Swan River
The upper section is excellent for Trout. Fly fisherman try your Hoppers, Ants or Small Boar Beetles. For the casting fisherman Panther Martin or Little Cleo are your ticket.

Be sure to sign up for the Wild West Panfish Trail tournament on Middle / Lower Thompson on September 9th. $100 per Team Entry (2 Person). Heaviest weight of 15 fish (Perch or Sunfish).
