Look for fish activity to really pick up this week with a cold front moving in soon. Cooler temps and low pressure will make for good fall fishing.

Ashley Lake
Salmon fishing has been moderate so keep after them using a Hali Jig. If you troll, use a small dodger and a pink Dick Nite spoon. Try getting down to 20ft below the surface.

Blanchard Lake
Good Perch action and Sunfish. Try using a Trick Tackle under spin jig with a Back Water Crawdad. Cast and retrieve this combo around lily pads. Some decent Northerns using a pike hanger rig and pea mouth.

Church Slough
Reports of a few decent pike around the inlet. Red/White or hammered copper DareDevils work best. Lots of small perch also so be moving around the schools for the bigger fish.
Echo Lake
Skirted jibs work great for bass in 12ft of water. Also try Search Bait 360 and swim this lure around heavy structure. Large pike will go after Berkley’s Champ Swimmer in the perch pattern.

Fennon Slough
Be on the lookout for large pike laying in the weeds around openings. Use swim baits and jerk baits to trigger a good strike. A few reports of perch using a Northland Forage Jig and maggots.

Flathead Lake
The whitefish bite is almost done. If you are still after them, go deep around 120ft. Lake trout action is really picking up and they are still feeding on perch minnows. Good perch fishing in Somers bay.

Flathead River
Water levels are low so use caution when floating. Flies that are hot are hopper patterns, Royal Wulf, and Coachman. Yellow and Red Panther Martins and a rainbow Rooster Tail work as well. Good action by Blankenship, Essex, Hungry Horse and Steel Bridge.

Graves Creek (Eureka)
Snagging season is open and doing very well. We have all you need to get started from poles to hooks. Remember your limits and NO catching and releasing!

Horseshoe (Ferndale)
Lots of great action for smaller bass. Try drop shotting a Roboworm or a Yum Dinger for best action. Reports of square bill crank baits doing well also.

Kootenai River
Reports are positive for the salmon this year. Use a 6/0 treble and target deeper pools for fish stacked up. Check regulations on what is open and limits. NO catch and release!

Lake Mary Ronan
Great perch fishing in front of Camp Tuffit and State Park. They will be in 16-24ft off the bottom using. A forage minnow and maggots. You can also try drop shot method using a smaller hook and bigger weight below on slow days.

Lake Five
Decent perch fishing near the access in 28ft of water. The bass are finally getting active in 12ft of water. A skirted jig with a worm like plastic works great.

Little Bitterroot
No recent reports but fishing should be doing well. Salmon are on the move so don’t spend a lot of time in one spot.

Lower Stillwater
Good place for smaller northerns. Good perch action as well. Depths vary from 8-14ft of water. Cast Dare Devils to get the pike to bite.

Middle Thompson
Trolling for salmon has been great. Use a dodger and a wedding ring 15-20ft below surface. Perch action will be picking up so get geared up. You might lose a few jigs to the northerns.

Smith Lake
Always a good place for smaller pike. A black spinner with orange blades works best.

Swan Lake
Reports of good lake trout action jigging Zimmer Tackle and green cut bait. Depths vary so focus on drop off areas for the bigger fish. A few decent pike near the outlet.
