This coming week should see some changes in fish behavior. Some species are slowing down, while others will increase activity. Make sure you are mobile and move often when the bite slows.

Ashley Lake
Salmon activity has slowed again this week. To get the most fish, try sprinkling Zoom generously in the water to trigger a biting response. Jig with a Hali and maggots.

Blanchard Lake
A few reports of decent Pike action. Try our new line of Berkley Swim Baits for good results. Also try a Husky Jerk in a bass pattern.

Church Slough
Perch fishing is great once located. Pete’s Cactus Candy jig and a Crappie Candy are a good way to catch bigger fish. Once a second pole, use frozen pea mouth on a pike hanger rig under a bobber to catch Northerns.
Echo Lake
Good Smallmouth action using a Roboworm on a drop shot rig. Lots of smaller Perch being caught with a Northland Forage Jig in a fire tiger pattern.

Fennon Slough
Reports coming in of decent Perch along the South side just past the entrance. Use Crappie Candy for best action. Be on the look out for large Pike. They can be caught with Berkley Swim Baits in perch patterns.

Flathead Lake
The Whitefish bite has slowed down, but it isn’t quite over yet. Be on the move! Lake Trout activity will be picking up again as fall Mac Days approaches. Perch fishing is great in Somers Bay and near Big Arm.

Flathead River
Another great week for multi-species and locations. The river offers good waters, scenery, wildlife and fishing.
North Fork – Many great opportunities to catch Cutthroats and Mountain Whitefish. Hoppers and Humpies are best flies. Good lures are rainbow pattern Panther Martins and Rooster Tails.
Middle Fork – Reports of nice fish in the Essex area. Many flies like Ants and Hoppers are best. Blankenship is also a great spot.
South Fork – Devils Elbow has seen some increased activity as water is released from the dam. Wet flies are a must or use spinning lures with salmon eggs to get deeper.
Lower – Great action by Steel Bridge for Rainbows and Cutts. Use Hopper patterns and Humpies for flies. A silver bladed Panther Martin is key for spin casting.

Graves Creek (Eureka)
Salmon snagging season opens the 15th of this month. We have hooks in many sizes for all your needs as well as fire ribbon.

Hungry Horse Reservoir
Reports are still good for 10-14in Cutthroat. Troll transition areas with flasher and wedding ring tipped with maggots.

Koocanusa
Salmon have been reported to be changing color and almost ready to spawn. Try trolling for Kamloops using a Plug It lure or a jointed Rapala.

Little Bitterroot
Good Smallmouth action on the South end. Use smaller plastic crawdad patterns and drag along the bottom. No reports of Salmon activity.

Lower Thompson
Wild West Panfish Trail is on the 7th, so get signed up at Snappy’s and fish. Great Perch action in many locations. Some good Pike mixed in as well.

Middle Thompson
Wild West Panfish Trail is on the 7th, sign up at Snappy’s to compete with the best panfish anglers in the Flathead area.

Tally Lake
Big Lake Trout if you can get them. Troll deep water with a red/white FlatFish. Northern Pike can be fun when using a Northland Reed Runner Spinner in a green and white pattern. Add a paddle tail for better action.
