Nearly 2,000 hunters stopped at Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' regional game check stations on Saturday and Sunday. Overall, 10 percent of hunters reported game, a 3 percent increase over last year’s opening weekend. The number of harvested white-tailed deer, mule deer, and elk was higher for the region compared to last year.
