Whitefish bite is on all over the lake. Try Caroline Point, the Delta, Shelter and Cedar Island, Woods Bay Point, Elmo and the Narrows. Use Pete’s Tackle Whitefish Slayer or Zimmer Rattle D’Zastor in 3/8 to 1/2oz. Look 40-50’ down. You’ll find some Lake Trout mixed in with the Whitefish. Perch are fishing well in Big Arm, Elmo and West side of Polson Bay. Look in 15-30’ water.
Good Salmon fishing around Rexford. Try tolling with wedding rings 30-40’. If you are jigging use your Hali jigs at the same depth. Rainbows are biting in the early morning troll on Berkley Flicker Shads.
Excellent Bass, Walleye and Pike. Look around the edge of the weed beds about 20’ down.
Salmon trolling 40-60’. Use dodgers and small spoons. Rainbows trolling the shore line in the early morning and evenings using spinners. Pike are fishing on the weed beds and the river mouth on the South end of the lake.
Loon Lake (TCL)
Good Bass fishing with plastics and crankbaits. Perch and Crappie near the weed beds and wind falls. Rainbows are on the troll with small flicker shad and spoons in the main part of the lake.
Rainbows troll in the early morning with spinners and spoons. Fly fish with Wooly Buggers using sinking line.
Perch are biting well on small jigs and Pete’s Tackle. Pike are biting on everything.
Lot of small Pike numbers. Try your spinner baits or Johnson Silver Minnow weedless. Perch are biting on small jigs and bait. Be sure to check your regulations for size and quantity.
Salmon trolling 40-50’ in the early morning on the North End. Wedding Rings and Cow Bells. Smallmouth Bass are biting around the rocky drop points.
Salmon are deep down. Trolling or jigging in the early morning. Perch are fishing in the deep weed beds.
North Fork: The upper run is getting pretty bony. Fishing well on dry flies and nymphs. Stimulators, Hoppers, Ants, Caddis, May Fly patterns are also starting to work as well.
Flathead River Sloughs
Church and Fennon have some great Pike in the early morning and some Bass as well. Try the deep weed beds for Pike with large jerk baits and shallow diving crank baits for Bass.
