Flathead Lake
Hot Whitefish bite all over the Lake. Places to try: Caroline Point, Delta, Shelter & Cedar Islands, Woods Bay Point, Elmo, Big Arm and The Narrows. Use Pete’s Tackle Whitefish Slayer or Zimmer Rattle D’Zaster in 3/8oz to 1/2oz sizes. Look in 40’-50’ water. Also, Lake Trout are mixed in with the Whitefish. Perch action is good in Elmo, Big Arm and West side of Polson Bay: 15’-30’ water.

Koocanusa
Excellent Salmon fishing. Try trolling or jigging near Rexford area. Hali Jigs tipped with maggots or trolling Flashlight Trolls with Wedding Ring spinners – 30-40’ down. Also, troll in the early mornings and late evenings for Rainbows with Berkley Flickr shad or Rapalas.
Flathead River & Forks
Doing well on the mainstem early mornings with large attractor flies, Chubbys, Foam Hoppers or Stimulators in orange/yellows. On the forks try PMDs, Elk Hair Caddis, Purple Haze or Humpys.

Upper Swan River
Doing well for Trout. Spinners: Try your Rooster tails in orange or yellow. Fly Fishermen: PMDs or Hoppers.

Swan Lake
Nice Salmon: 40’-60’. Trolling dodgers and small spoons. Good Rainbow: trolling shorelines early and late. Pike are being caught at the south end in the early mornings, look in the weeds.

Loon Lake (TCL)
On the West side there is some good Bass action on plastics and crank baits. Also, Crappie and Perch near the weed edges or wood. Troll flick shad for Rainbow in the main lake.

Beaver Lake
Good Rainbows in the early mornings. Trolling small flies like Wooly Bugger or plugs.

Noxon Reservoir
Excellent Bass, Pike and Walleye. Look down 20’ along weed edges for Bass and Walleye. The Pike are deep in the weed beds.

Island Lake
Still hearing good numbers of fillet size Perch and a few small Pike.

Smith Lake
Great numbers of smaller Pike. Try spinner baits. Also, some big Perch! Be sure to check regs: Perch are 10 over 10” on Smith.

Bitterroot Lake
Few Salmon still biting. Trolling deep 40’-50’ in the early mornings on the North End. Getting a few good reports for Small mouth Bass around the deep points.

Ashley Lake
Some Salmon action but mostly nice Perch in the deep weed beds.

Flathead River Sloughs
Good Pike in the very early mornings. Some nice Bass reports too. Try deep weed beds for Pike with large jerk baits. Try the shallow diving crank baits for Bass.
