Flathead Lake	Both trolling and jigging really good off the delta - look for the mud line 100-120'
River & Streams	Open third weekend in May
Bitterroot & Ashley Lake	Really turning on for Kokanee. Mostly jigging - few trolling.
Lake Mary Ronan	Lots of good Kokanee, few Perch & Rainbows
Thompson Chain	Pike are turning on. Middle & Lower are doing the best
Island Lake	Really good numbers of eater Perch, few Pike
Thompson River	Salmon Fly Hatch is on. Almost Over!

What should I be using for pike, and are they more likely to be on submerged wood or on weed lines?

Mike,
I talked to Kirk in our fishing department. He said that spinner baits and spoons seem to be your best bet. Also just putting smelt under a bobber has been working as well. Check for the pike closer to weed lines. They don't hang around submerged wood much.

Is road open on east or west shore of hungry horse to get up to meadow creek gorge?

Talked to the Hungry Horse Ranger District Office (406-387-3800) and they indicated that the roads are open all the way up. There are some trails still closed, but the roads are open. Hope that this helps.

Ok someone was saying that westside washed out and last week on east side it said road was closed 30 some odd miles south

We had heard the same. That was why I called the Ranger District Office. I figured they would be the best people to know. The ranger indicated all open. No issues. Hope that this helps.
