Pine Grove Pond
Excellent place for the kids to fish for Rainbows. Best results are worm under a bobber.
Good reports of both Northerns and Lakers being caught. Use a white Doodlebug with cut bait and jig deep for Lakers. Use a Husky Jerk for shallow Pike in weed beds.
Another good report for Northerns on the NW end. Best lure is a Firetiger Husky Jerk from Rapala. Keep lure just above the weed beds for best results.
Fishing great for Salmon. A good trolling setup is a dodger, rubber snubber, flouro leader and a pink Wedding Ring tipped with NW Rodbender Flavored Corn.
Another great Salmon bite this week. Jigging seems best using either a Hali or Swedish Pimple and Rat Finke Dropper. Tip with NW Rod Bender Corn.
Decent sized Perch in about 14ft off the bottom in weed beds. Be ready to catch smaller Sunnies mixed in with Perch. Smaller Pike using jerk baits as well.
There are a few smaller Pike being caught along with some decent Perch. Look for Pike laying on weed beds. Throw Crocodile Spoons in front of them to trigger a reaction.
With warmer days, start thinking about top water lures for post spawn Bass. Perch fishing has been good using a 1/8oz jig tipped with worms under a bobber.
With all the recent run off, focus in deeper water south of the delta. Use Zimmer Tackle with cut bait for jigging or Brad’s Cut Plug for trolling. Reports of Perch in Somers Bay.
Rivers are slowly clearing up but still moving fast. Reports of nice Cutthroat around Pressentine Bar. Cast Panther Martin’s with a silver blade with maggots. Fly fishing is still good using Prince Nymphs.
Great Cutthroat action early mornings and later in the day. A few Bulls also. Try trolling a medium diving jointed Rapala in a rainbow pattern.
Smallmouth Bass action is heating up. Trout bite has been decent.
Good destination for Salmon. Use electronics to locate schools and jig. Best bet is a pink or glow white Hali with NW Rodbender corn. Also use Zoom to get school to trigger feeding frenzy.
Lake Mary Ronan
Salmon has been a little slow although they are decent size. Perch have been decent in 19ft of water.
Try throwing a lipless crankbait around rock piles for Bass. Rainbows can be caught trolling a trout pattern flicker shad. Jig deeper water with a white tube and cut bait for Lakers.
