The Delta is fishing well for Lake Trout and Lake Whitefish. Try 15’-30’ deep. You can launch at Wayfarers State Park or Flathead River Sportsman Bridge fishing access site. Flathead River Upper main stem is fishing well for the fly fishermen. Try Streamer patterns, which have been working well for Cutthroats, Bulls and a few Mountain Whitefish. Lower End of the river above Bigfork you’ll need to look for deep holes – 20’-40’ for the Lake Trout and Whitefish. Be sure to check your regulations for river fishing. Still some good ice fishing going. The late ice is excellent for Salmon fishing. Lake Mary Ronan

Crystal Lake Still good reports of Salmon in the early mornings. Bitterroot Lake Still producing well for good Salmon on the North end. Big Rainbows have been good in the North end as well. Seeing them mostly in shallow water. Lower Stillwater Good Perch on the west end. LOTS of ice, upwards of 3’, so be sure to bring your power auger. Smith Lake Lots of small Pike. The big perch are starting to pick up. Try just to the right of the boat launch near the Eagle Tree. Pete’s Tackle Slab Slayer are working well. Lake Five Good numbers of smaller Salmon coming in. Last we heard there is still a bit of ice. But not much. The perch should be doing really well.

Wondering about the ice conditions on Smith lake and Bitterroot Lake, if they're safe right now?

Both lakes have good ice. There is a nice blanket of snow that keeps the ice insulated. The warmer weather hasn't been melting them much because of that.

The bigger lakes like Flathead and Whitefish have some open water and you are able to launch a boat. Many of the smaller lakes are losing ice fast. Shorelines are open but still some ice.
