With these cold temps, its important to wear the proper clothing to avoid frostbite and hypothermia. Avoid getting wet! Ashley Lake The Salmon bite is still doing great in many areas of the lake. Schools run from just below the ice all the way to the bottom. Some decent Perch are being caught along with a Rainbow or two. Blanchard Lake Fishing has slowed for the Crappie so be on the move. Try downsizing your presentation to get a few more bites. Church Slough
Reports are coming in of all species of fish being suspended just below the ice. Reel up so fish can see it. They see up, not down. Echo Lake Lots of smallie Perch being caught using snare spoons or Forage minnows. Pike fishing is slowly picking up to those who are dedicated. Flathead Lake Somers Bay –Decent Lake Trout along with some Whitefish. Use Zimmer Doodlebugs with cut bait in 40-60’ft for Lakers. East Bay – Nice Perch and will get better soon. Remember your limits on Perch. Lake Mary Ronan Perch bite is good for a couple days, then slows for a couple days. Be on the move on slow days. Salmon has picked up and best times are early mornings or very late evenings. Little Bitterroot Salmon are doing quite well in a wide range of depths. South end seems best and the North end is doing ok for Perch. Rainbow fishing has been slow but should be picking up. Lower Stillwater Dedicated people are fighting deep snow conditions to catch decent Perch. A snow cat is best way to get around or walk out 300yd from the launch. Rogers Lake Cutthroat bite has slowed but Grayling has slowly picked up. Expect deep snow conditions. Smith Lake The Perch bite continues to be slow. Keep drilling holes and be on the move. Reports say the Pike fishing has slowed also. Swan Lake A few Pike have been iced on the North end. Salmon is slow even for experienced anglers. Thompson Chain Upper – No recent reports other than deep snow. Middle – Perch has been good in deeper water. The Salmon have slowly picked up. Lower – A few decent Pike and Perch. Conditions limit those who fish here. Whitefish Lake Laker bite has slowed some, but the Whitefish have picked up for those who can find them. Good sized Pike have come out of the NW end in shallow water. McGregor Lake Decent Lake Trout is deep water. For best results, use a white tube jig with cut bait and slam off the bottom.
