Church had plenty of ice to walk on yesterday and gobs of micro-perch plus a nice wandering dog kept me company the whole time i was there (I named it Barky). I'm not sure if that was a free service or not so i left a penny amongst the large pile of dead, eyeless perch that the "fisherman" who was there before me just left on the ice (not cool).
If you wanna gamble with your expensive wheeled /tracked toys you can but I'll be pulling my sled without motorized help for now. The Flathead Valley Dude Bank is accepting donations of any and all types of the above-mentioned vehicles as an alternative option to sinking your skidoo. I know of one local dude that would have really appreciated the side by side with tracks on it that resides at the bottom of Lake Blaine. It's not tax deductible but does come with a free thank you card (please provide self-addressed, stamped envelope) and as much good karma as you can fit between your toes. Hope to see everybody out at Lake Mary Ronan on Saturday!
Thanks for the (humorous) update. Good to know about the ice on Church.
Is whitefish lake safe? If so how is the fishing over there? Thank you!
There is no ice on Whitefish. Some junk ice in a couple bays, but nothing safe to fish from.
Is the Murphy lake derby on for Feb 13th?
We talked to the organizers earlier this week and they said that Murphy Lake has about 9" of ice and that the tourney was still a go.
