We are seeing good ice conditions on nearly all the lakes. ALWAYS use caution as some shorelines will still be soft!
Lake Mary Ronan:
Good Ice 10-12”. Perch fishing has been very good near Camp Tuffit. Look for them down 18-22’. Try Demon Jigs, Forage Minnows or Pete’s Sassy Jigs. Salmon action has been slower this year. Look in the mid lake 35-40’ deep in the early mornings. Pink Hali Jigs seem to work the best.
Salmon have been a bit slower here as well. Try the North end, 40’ deep. Use your Z-ray Glo Hooks or Hali Jigs. Hearing reports of a few big Rainbows in the evening on the North end as well.
All three lakes have good Perch action. Try the deep water on Middle Thompson 40-70’ with Tingler Spoons or Clam Speed Spoons.
Lower: Still fishing well with Rainbow and Bookies as well.
Upper: Along with the Perch the Pike are doing well also.
Some Crappies in the late afternoon on into dark. Good Perch action; nice fish but a bit hit and miss.
Loon Lake (Near Bigfork):
Some nice Rainbow, up to 25”. Be sure to check your regs for this body of water.
Little McGregor:Lots of smaller Perch and a few good Rainbows.
Lake Five:Hearing lots of reports for smaller Salmon. Few big Perch and Rainbows as well.
Lots of small Salmon.
Starting to completely freeze over. Some early reports off City Beach area.
Still producing lots of small Pike. Big Perch still coming in slowly. Should pick up late Feb and early March.
Salmon action good on the bay side. Also hearing good reports on the Lake Trout.
