Perch are still hitting on the Backwater Bait Ankle Biters, especially the white colors. We are hearing decent reports of the Salmon hitting at night, but your milage may vary. Echo Lake The Bass are striking the crank baits and soft plastics. Look for them to be around 14-20ft deep. Flathead Lake The lakers are sitting deep, around 70-100ft down. But they are hitting the double glow tail white jigs with a pike minnow tail on them. Dragging some Flatfish along the bottom has proven successful for some also. Flathead River Starting to hear more and more reports of the Whitefish. Most reports say the Backwater Perch Madness has been good. The fall run is just picking up. Use a 1/16-1/8oz green jig head for those soft plastics. Flathead River Sloughs Big Pike and Crappie are what the reports are saying. Looking about 15ft down. Pete’s Crappie Candy (Beer Gut Minnow) or the Backwater Baits Ankle Biters are the ticket. Lake Mary Ronan We have been hearing sporadic reports that the Perch are starting to bite. The Perch have been biting strong, especially drawn towards white jigs. Tackle such as Pete’s Crappie Candy, Backwater Bait Anklebiters, and white Mister Twisters should prove a successful trip on the lake. Echo Lake The Smallmouth have been drawn towards more natural and darker soft plastics. Perch bite has been good on Ashley. Jig with a white grub for best results. Salmon bite has been clicking along on Bitterroot. Mostly hearing that jigging your Hali’s or Swedish Pimples with white corn or a maggot. Echo Lake Largemouth, Smallmouth and Pike fishing have all been excellent. Bass bite has been good. Hearing a few reports of Pike being caught as well. Both being caught with spinnerbaits or chatterbaits. Flathead Lake Whitefish bite has been slow this week. There have been a few reports along the North West shore. Somers Bay has been good for Smallmouth. Lake Trout are being found out around the deep shelf edges. Flathead River Dry Flies like hopper patterns and Purple Haze are still getting the job done with the fly rod. Panther Martins or Mepps for your spinner rods. Blanchard Lake Crappie fishing has been a little slow. For the best luck for both Crappie and Perch get out the Pete’s Crappie Candy. Pike have hitting the spinnerbaits and perch pattern crankbaits. Bass are nailing the Senko worms. Ashley & Bitterroot Lakes For Kokanee use some trolling flies or jig your Hali and Swedish Pimples with a maggot or white corn. If you prefer Rainbows try the Kamlooper spoons. |
