We also have a full line of seasonings from Hi Mountain and a great local seasoning company, Elkhorn Smokehouse. 406-756-BAIT (2248) | 756BAIT.comThe Smoke is GONE! Fall has arrived and temperatures are cooling rapidly.
Flathead Lake Still catching some Whitefish on the delta. We expect that bite to really slow down as more of the fish are moving up the Flathead River for the fall spawn. We have been getting reports that the Lakers are moving up shallow getting ready for their spawn as well. By Doug MacCarter I would like to thank all of you who participated in viewing the Ospreys at Snappy's. Three years of collecting data on Ospreys in the Flathead Valley indicates that the population trend of Ospreys has remained stable. The average number of occupied nests ( both parents) was 25, producing an average of 32 young per year. Fledging success average 93%. Studying the reproductive performance of Ospreys shows a productivity (number of young per occupied nest) rate of 1.3. It is believed that each breeding pair in the population must reproduce an average of .95 to 1.30. This productivity seems to be sufficient to maintain a stable population. Tune in for next year.

Flathead Lake Lake Whitefish are still hitting a good bit. North End is still fishing very well. Try you luck on the Delta, Woods Bay Point, Caroline Point and Conrad Point. Also, should be decent elsewhere if you are fishing in 40’-60’ of water. Lake Trout are starting to pick up out there. Trolling Flatfish around 60’-100’ around the Delta and Mid Lake Bar. Lake Trout are also mixed in with the Whitefish. Jigging larger jigs from Zimmer or Kit’s Tackle. Seeing 1 or 1-1/2 oz. as the most popular. Early mornings are still your best bet! Don’t forget to bring your cooler packed with ice to get those fish cooled down quickly. South End stall has some great Perch action in Big Arm, Elmo, Dayton Bay or around Cromwell Island. Look for them to be at 15’-25’ deep. 406-756-BAIT (2248) | 756BAIT.comFlathead Lake
