Ashley Lake Reports of Salmon has slowed some. This should change later in the week, so look for schools that are active on your sonar. Troll with cowbells and wedding ring lures. Blanchard Lake Look for fish to be hiding in cover under lily pads or docks. Jig smaller lures in the pads for Perch. Use heavy punch style lures for Bass. Cast spinner baits along side weed formations. Church Slough Good reports of smaller Pike in the 5-8lb range. There is still good top water action early and late in the day. Vibrax Spinners are great for Pike. Ashley Lake Salmon bite ahs been good early mornings and slows after noon. Look for large schools and use a pink #4 Swedish Pimple and a #10 Rat Finke tipped with maggots for best results. Beaver Lake Reports of a few decent Salmon being caught trolling with a dodger and a pink Wedding Ring. No reports of Rainbows this week. Church Slough Numerous medium sized Perch are being caught using Pete’s Crappie Candy and big eye spinner. Low pressure systems are a great time to get out and fish. Go early and stay late.
Ashley Lake Try trolling for Salmon 20ft down with a 3-blade cow bell and a Dick Nite spoon tipped with maggots for good success. For some of the Rainbows, try pulling a white and purple Plug It lure behind an 8in flasher. Blanchard Lake Reports of a few decent Perch & Pike coming in along with some Sunnies. Jig a Rat Funke with maggots in the heavy lilly pads for best results. Church Slough Look for fish moving up from deeper water to feed. Try out new color patterns of DareDevils to go after the Northerns. Whitefish bite is on! Caroline Point, Somers, Delta, Woods Bay are all doing well. 30-50ft depending on your location. Look for large schools on your sonar and jig a Trick Tackle off the bottom. Flathead River Hopper patterns are finally working as well as most terrestrials. Good spots are Blankenship Bridge, Glacier Rim, Devil’s Elbow and Quarter Circle Bridge. Thomson Chain Another good week for fishing. Perch seem to be best in 20-25ft of water. Best Pike and Bass action will be in 10ft or less. Spinner baits in a white and green work best. |
