Flathead Lake
Hearing reports with good numbers of Lake Trout starting to show up. Try Brad’s Super Baits Fire Tiger 3” behind some flashers. A few Lake Whitefish showing up near the Delta, a bit hit & miss though. Try the South End of the lake for Perch and Smallmouth Bass.

Flathead River – Main Stem
Starting to look good. Green water coming down and clearing up nicely. Hearing reports of nice fish hitting the San Juan Worms or small wet flies. The forks are starting to clear up as well.

South Fork – Flathead River
Above the reservoir is looking better. Still high but clearing up nicely.

Flathead River
The river is starting to green up some and come down a bit. Another week or two and things should really pick up on the main stem

South Fork (Below Hungry Horse)
The water is high, but we are hearing a few decent reports on the cutts.

Hungry Horse Reservoir
Try fishing the tributary creeks for cutts. Pautzke Salmon Eggs are great. Also give small spoons in gold or hammered copper a shot. They seem to work well too

Anglers Can Help Prevent AIS

Aquatic invasive species (AIS) threaten Montana’s waterways and fisheries.  AIS are plants, animals and pathogens that are not native to Montana and cause harm to Montana’s native plants, animals and fish.  AIS populations can reproduce quickly and spread rapidly because there are no natural predators or competitors to keep them in check.

Anglers can help prevent the spread of AIS by following these 3 simple steps:

River fishing is still pretty well blown out. Hopefully a few more weeks and that will stabilize, and we should be rockin’ and rollin’.

Lake Mary Ronan
Salmon fishing is still good. Best in the early morning or night bites. Perch fishing is doing well also. Try near Camp Tuffit or Sunken Island. Good Bass too. Don’t forget the Bass restriction May 19th to June 30th for all Western Montana – Only ONE Bass over 22”.
