Ice conditions are very slushy on mon lakes. You are going to need your Muck Boots! Lake Mary Ronan: 10” of ice with 6” of snow and slush on top. Good Perch action still near Cap Tuffit and White Rock Bay. Try Hali Jigs in 20’ of water. You can fish for Salmon at night and do well. The closure is done, so you can fish for all species after March 1.

Thompson Chain of Lakes: Middle: Salmon fishing is good in the very early mornings, 5am-8am. Seeing nice fish in 60’ of water. Try Glo Swedish Pimples with Rat Finkies. Perch fishing is a bit slower. Fish are suspended in deep water 40-60’. Hali Jigs in Orange or jigging Rapalas in Perch patterns. Lower: Good Perch (8”-12”) at the East end in 30’-40’ water. Also, good Trout near Outlet Creek. Few Pike in the bays being caught on smelt or dead bait. Upper: Hearing about lots of smaller Perch in 5’-10’ water with some bigger fish closer to the 10’ depth. Few good Pike reports as well. Ice Reports: Lake Mary Ronan: Good Ice 10-12”. Perch fishing has been very good near Camp Tuffit. Look for them down 18-22’. Try Demon Jigs, Forage Minnows or Pete’s Sassy Jigs. Salmon action has been slower this year. Look in the mid lake 35-40’ deep in the early mornings. Pink Hali Jigs seem to work the best. |
